This study begins with a look at the Apostle Peter and the wisdom he shared with first century Christians, wisdom that God preserved as Scripture. Peter was a faithful man of God who grew up in the synagogue, followed the ministry of John the Baptist, and eventually, with James and John, was included in the inner circle of leadership among the disciples of Jesus.
Peter’s faith was foundational to his life, and it is his faith God used to be a witness to all generations through Scripture. The Bible is filled with stories of ordinary people whose faith made them extraordinary witnesses for God.
The second half of this study will focus on the men and women of faith whose stories have been preserved as Scripture. God knew their stories would teach and inspire ours.
My hope is that these biblical examples of faith will strengthen and equip us to be people of faith today. As you study each week, ask the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts. The Lord speaks, especially from the pages of Scripture. May God bless your study of his word.
